Securities: Stocks and Bonds
Donating appreciated stocks, bonds or mutual funds to the REFB can allow you to reduce or avoid capital gains taxes and receive a federal income tax charitable deduction.

Designating the REFB as the beneficiary of your securities is another way to help us end hunger in our community. To assist you with your transfer of securities to the Redwood Empire Food Bank, please see below.
Making securities available to the REFB can bring food to empty tables.
  • We are a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization, tax identification number 68-0121855.
  • Transfer stock to the Redwood Empire Food Bank account at Merrill Lynch Santa Rosa.
  • For electronic stock transfers, the (DTC) number is 5198.
  • For questions about stock transfers, please contact our representative, Steve Smith 707.575.6342.
To advise the Redwood Empire Food Bank of your stock donation and help us facilitate a timely and appropriate receipt, please complete the following form.

Please be advised that completing this form alone will not transfer stock to the REFB; completion of this transfer requires you to contact your broker.
