"I think all of us can get creative to find ways to help rid the world of hunger.

Donating a portion of my art sales not only makes me feel good, but it gives the person buying the art a way to get involved as well."

Linda James, Local #183 NALC - Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive Coordinator

"I've been coordinating food drives for a number of years now with the help of the Redwood Empire Food Bank.

Their assistance and support have been invaluable! I've found that when you make it easy for people to give the response is almost always positive.

And, especially in tough economic times, every donation, large or small, makes a difference!"

- Linda James, Local #183 NALC - Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive Coordinator

Frank Hayhurst, Zone Music, Cotati

"We simply cannot accept being a community where children go to bed hungry, or where our elders run out of food and money by the 20th of the month!

We have such wealth and abundance in our community, and it is our great privilege to be able to share it."

- Frank Hayhurst, Zone Music, Cotati

"Understanding the need to support REFB on a year-around basis, the staff at SRJC are now holding four, 2-week long food drives per year. It's an activity in which students, faculty and staff all participate!"

- Walt Chesbro, Instructor, Santa Rosa Junior College

Bonnie Day with the Boy Scouts
"'Helping other people at all times' is part of the Cub Scout and Boy Scout Oath. One way our local Scouts put feet to these words is through our annual REFB Scouting for Food Drive."

- Bonnie Day, Pomo District Scouting For Food Coordinator

Colin Bartlett and Daniel Guerrero-Gomez

My friend Daniel Guerro-Gomez and I did a food drive for 6th grade community service hours a few years ago. I was surprised by how generous people were. Almost everyone wanted to help . . . we just had to ask and make it easy for them to drop off the food. It was amazing how much we collected in only 8 hours and it felt good to know we helped so many people in our community.
