Why
are so many people in our affluent
county struggling to make ends meet?
Learn
more about hunger in Sonoma County
by participating in Hunger 101.
We designed this hands-on learning
experience for groups of 10 to 30
adults. Each person is assigned
the profile of low-income individual.
Your
challenge? To use your limited resources
to get enough food to feed your
family. You'll shop at our simulated
grocery store, visit our 'soup kitchen'
and 'food pantry' or apply for food
stamps. This experience will guide
you through the informational discussion
about hunger in Sonoma County and
what you can do to help alleviate
this problem.
Hunger
101 is a thought-provoking way for
your community service group, business,
congregation or club to learn more
about hunger in our community. Geared
towards adults, this one hour class
is free of charge and can be conducted
here at REFB or at a meeting place
of your choice.
